Death Undone (One Day)
His
lips were a healing kiss of coagulated blood
Furthering
the humility of his countenance;
A
bruised and beaten focal form expressing
Eternal
love
Salt-stung
eyes swollen with the weight of sin
Looked
out upon a sea of transgression
And
rivers of faith, running with fear
While
a circle of feminine passion glorified
His
sacrifice through the providence of pain
Beneath
the writing feet of God
Suspended
between heaven and earth
Upon
cursed crossbeams of judicial homicide
Bound
by His children who knew Him not
For
blind vulgarity had crowned the very head of majesty
With
spit and thorns
And
yet His last breath was spent
On
spoken words of forgiveness
Before
the Father
And
fallen man;
Forsaken
that
those who would follow
Would
never be forgotten
